Canada Announces New Home Care Worker Immigration Pathways
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has officially unveiled details of the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots, set to launch on March 31, 2025. These new pathways come with reduced eligibility requirements, making it easier for home care workers to qualify for permanent residence.
Key Highlights:
- Only six months of relevant work experience or training required
- CLB 4 language proficiency
- Minimum secondary school diploma
- LMIA-exempt pathways
- Special public policy to accommodate out-of-status workers
Initially, applications will be open only to workers already in Canada, with a separate stream for international applicants launching later this year.
This initiative aims to strengthen Canada’s home care sector while providing foreign workers with a clear pathway to permanent residence.
