Bill C-71 Halt Could Expand Citizenship Access
The suspension of Bill C-71 after Parliament’s prorogation this month could lead to thousands gaining Canadian citizenship—many without direct ties to Canada. The bill aimed to regulate citizenship for children born abroad to Canadian parents, including a 3-year residency rule.
